PRO FC has had an extremely busy week with three of our players from Northampton and Keele Universities on trial at Notts County Football Club.
Martin Allen saw all three players play at both camps and spoke very highly of them, also the Managers that mentored the players throughout the week selected them from 50 potential players. This was a huge reward for the players and a life time opportunity to trial at the oldest football club in the world.
Ciro Donadio, George Cottle and Danny Bate all travelled to Nottingham on Sunday night to prepare them for a huge couple of days which could change their lives.
The three players were then asked to participated in Brett Adams (Head Coach) training session with 1st and 2nd year scholars, this was still a massive opportunity for the players and reports back were that they had performed extremely well in their first training session. After lunch they were asked by the Nott’s physio to attend a gym session which was based on strength circuits to improve their muscular endurance. The physio put them through their paces but had to be sensible as they had an important game on Tuesday, after the session they had the option to go for a swim/sauna to relax their muscles from a hard day’s work.
Tuesday morning approached and the players were eager to arrive at Meadow Lane and prepare themselves for an exhibition game which was being watched by the PRO FC Director Martin Allen and Notts County Manager. This was an opportunity to showcase their talent with Notts County and be amongst professional footballers, they would also have the chance to play at the stadium which doesn’t happen on an everyday basis.
PRO FC isn’t just about giving players the opportunity to trial at football clubs if they have the ability, we also promote ‘Team behind the Team’. This means we offer opportunities for players that don’t quite make the criteria to get a trial they get offered work experience placements at Football Clubs or companies. Jordan Easter experienced work experience at Notts County FC working alongside the physiotherapist department with John Wilson and his staff. Jordan worked alongside those highly experienced staff to get a clear understanding on what the job intakes and how the staffs behind the scenes work hard to prepare their players for training and match day.
Jordan has been asked by Notts County’s John Wilson to attend work experience every Friday to gain more experience, which will help him through his University studies which is based on Sports.
